Unified Messaging

Unified Messaging (UM) is an advanced messaging capability that allows you to bring together traditionally separate messaging media such as Email, Fax and Voice Messaging to a single combined communications experience.

The communications experience will usually take the form of a unified mailbox allowing end users to have a single source for message delivery, repository, access, and notification providing the ability to retrieve and send email messages, faxes, and voice messages from a single interface.

Whether using your office handset, PC, or mobile device, UM allows employees to take more control over their communications allowing them to be contactable anytime and anyplace to enhance flexibility and also provide the security expected whilst working inside the office location.

Single Delivery:

Send any message destined to a particular end user by addressing to a single alias.

Single Repository:

All messages are stored in one place for easy access/retrieval and integration such as speak-to-text and text-to-speak

Single Access:

Utilising a UM addressing scheme allows end users to access all messages through simple, intuitive mailbox interface commands.

Single Notification:

SMS or other forms of notification allow the end user to be alerted of missed and/or incoming messaging and communication attempts.

One of the most significant aspects of UM is the ability to integrate with other applications. For example, the UM system could detect a received email, determine that the recipient is on their mobile phone, and send the message to their mobile handset to read or listen to whilst out of the office ensuring important messages are never missed!
